Do you want to write a book, but haven’t worked on it lately?
It’s so easy to put off writing or working on your book to another day, and before you know it another month has gone by with no more words on the page.
But what if you could look back on the last three months and see real progress on your book project?
To get there, you need a plan.
Introducing my goal setting worksheet!
These two pages of questions will guide you through setting a realistic goal for next quarter.
It starts with digging into why you want to write this book. Get in touch with how you would feel if you complete it, and how you would feel if you don’t complete it. That’s the fuel that will drive your progress.
Writing a book is a big endeavor. You won’t be able to complete everything you need to do for your book in one quarter, but you can pick a milestone and achieve that. Maybe it’s an amount of words written, completing a draft or an outline, or revising a number of chapters, or completing research.
After you determine what milestone you want to reach, I direct you to look at what your actual capacity is. Determine how much time and energy you have and what schedule you would have to keep to get the work done. From there, the worksheet helps you choose a specific goal tailored to what you want to accomplish that also works for you in your real life right now.
Next quarter is coming up, starting July 1. Now is the time to begin planning how to crush your writing goals in the next three months.
When you click to download the goal setting worksheet, you will also get an invitation to a free goal setting workshop on July 1!
This is the first session of my weekly accountability group for writers, where we set our goals for the quarter. Meetings are Tuesdays at 7pm Central. It’s $45/month if you want to continue after the first session. There’s no pressure to join, just a friendly invitation! You are welcome to get the free worksheet and nothing else, or the worksheet and the workshop without joining the group. But if you are interested, I hope you join us!
